What can I do to prevent them or try and keep them clean.... I guess. I am soon to be turning 13 and I was just wondering if this might just be part of "growing up".

there are several things that could be causing this reaction. you could be allergic to the actual blade

you could be allergic to the deoderant your using
      ingrown hairs
if your shaving everyday try shaving only every other day
i would highly recommend waxing its fairly inexpensive if you just do your underarms, make sure they use a hard wax for your underarms instead of a soft wax (they use strips with the soft) i think you'll really like the results you get with waxing

    • ANSWER:
It sounds like severely dry skin. Try Bag Balm. It's really for cows. I know it sounds wierd, but if the stuff can help severely chapped cow udders, then I can probably help with the skin under your arms. I've tried it because someone recommended it to my mom. It helps with all kinds of skin irritations. It has antibiotics in it as well as other medicine. Sometimes you can find it at pharmacies, because other people use it! Good luck!

  6. QUESTION:
My 4 month old golden retriever has red itchy bumps under arms and scratches constantly. What is the cause?
He scratches and bites and no fleas are present only little red bumps and rash like symptoms under his arms, on his belly, and under his neck. I need answers this is not good. Is it a yeast infection or something else i don't know about?

    • ANSWER:
Take your pup to a vet, they are best at diagnosing and treating pet skin ailments. A yeast infection is possible because yeast does live in the moist areas but my guess is that this is unlikely. More likely it is fleas, mites, scabies or some other biting critter. Check the base of the tail for signs of fleas. The mites are too small to see so the vet will do a skin scrapping (painless) and look under a microscope. The good news is all these things are treatable. The bad news is that if you don't treat the dog, you may get them next.

  18. QUESTION:
What can you use to get rid of shaving bumps?
Whenever I shave I always get shaving bumps under my arms and on my bikini line, I used to ignore it but now I'm very self conscious of raising my arms or wearing swim suits. I've heard of products that get rid of these, but I was wondering what the best product was for both?

    • ANSWER:
Benadryl cream/gel/whatever. Or any other generic diphenhydramine for external use. Seriously! Its the most amazing thing it makes extreme razor burn go away. Just use it after you shave or whenever you have those bumps. It might sting a little if you cut yourself while shaving.

I don't use it under my arms, I feel like it might get in the way of the deodorant but it is the best possible thing for your bikini line.

You could also use Bikini Zone which has a main ingredient that is another anti-itch medicine but it is more expensive and I haven't tried it so I don't know if it works as well.

  19. QUESTION:
when checking for swollen lyphm glands under. do you raise your arm or hold in a normal position?
i felt a slight bump under my right arm when raised , but felt the same in left side too ,are they glands or muscle?

    • ANSWER:
In the doctor's office, it is in the normal position (arms downs) and they attempt to find anything abnormal. I had this done before however I did not feel anything whether arms down or raised. The doctor didn't find anything either. They were looking for tumors in the lymph nodes and finding any swollen lymph nodes under my arms.

See a doc. It always helps.

I hope it is nothing serious.

How do you get rid of a cyst?
I've had this bump under my arm for a while and I read that it was something called a cyst. The name's all I know, though. How do I get rid of it? Do I pop it like a pimple or is there some kind of medication for it? I'm worried that this is something serious.

    • ANSWER:
The cyst is hard right? The only way to get rid of it is to get it drained by a doctor, meaning to have it drained using a injection. I have one on my back and I tried to pop it too, but trust me, it doesnt work. The cyst is not serious, it won't harm you. But if your irritated by it, you can just have it drained by the doctor. I heard that it doesn't really hurt, but I can't really feel mine, so I just left it alone. Hope this helps

  28. QUESTION:
How can you get rid of razor bumps under your arms?
I shave under my arms every day with gilette dry skin formula.
maybe its because i shave them every day, they become irritated.
    any suggestions??

    • ANSWER:
shaving every day is too frequent. Give it a rest for a few days.

Use a good gel and a good multiblade razor. Keep the area you are shaving wetted by wiping the area over and over with your hand while shaving.

Use as little pressure as you can.

rinse the razor frequently while shaving.

when done, wash thoroughly and apply a neosporin, triple antibiotic type of cream to the shaved area.

Everyone's skin is different. But by backing off and shaving less frequently, figuring out what works for you, you will be able to figure out what works best, frequency of shaving etc.

  29. QUESTION:
How do you know when a girl is old enough or ready to start wearing deoderant?
My daughter is 7 and has been getting little red bumps under her arms. Sweat bumps I believe.

  30. QUESTION:
Does the one have to do with the others?
I had an infected hair bump under my left arm and I just got rid of it a few weeks ago. It then spread down to my left body side and then it spread down to my hip. I'm getting another one under my left arm again and also on my hip. It has only affected the left side of my body. But now my hands and feet sometimes have a burning itching feeling. Does this have anything to do with my boils?

    • ANSWER:
it could be the infection seeking a way out of your body.

you might try scrubbing your skin in a hard, dry brush like a backscratcher or a loofah. i've read that it's a common practice of those who are fasting or going through detoxes. it helps the body to rid itself of toxins and infections faster for some reason.

and i have stopped shaving but after 3days of not shaving my under arms i have to shave cuz i dont like the little hairs and whatever i do they dont go away!! HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!

    • ANSWER:
You could try using shaving gel, or hair removal cream.
Shaving gel makes the shave less irritated and keeps the skin calmer. Use a tiny bit of it and it should be okay.
Hair removal cream is easy to use, things such as Nair are good. Just follow the instructions carefully.
You put a little bit of it on the hairy(lol) area, and leave it on for the reccomened time( which says on the container) Leave it on and after a while test a small area to see if it comes off, by washing it away with water, and if it comes off then you can proceed to wash the rest off.
      It's fast, easy and painless.
      Good Luck :)

  35. QUESTION:
Is it fairly common these days for men to shave their under arms?
To be quite honest, I have been shaving my under arms for 2 years now. I love how it feels with no hair and my under arms smell much better. Call me girly man if you want but I am not girly or metro sexual at all.

    • ANSWER:
Its completely normal to want that sexy on-screen star body celebrity males have. Mostly all of the hottest men have hairless bodies, and women love this hunky look. Shaving is one easy way to rid yourself of hair, best the most efficient and long lasting is waxing. It may hurt a little but its well worth it. You can purchase wax almost anywheres, and it eliminates dark shadows and pesky red bumps. Shaving is still a great way to do it though and there are plenty men removing hair this way. It shows you care about your appearance which is what most girls are looking for. It doesn't make you meterosexual or weird whatsoever. Honestly, you should get more guys into hair removal! :)

how do you get rid of rash/ ingrown hairs in you arm pits?
i get little bumps under my arms i think caused from shaving or deoderant but i use a sharp rasor everytime it keeps happening and is painful! any remedies?!

    • ANSWER:
Use a Body wash exfoliant a few times a week. Also using a deodorant for sensitive skin wouldn't be too bad. I wouldn't recommend waxing if you're skin is already susceptible to ingrowns and rashes. I know sometimes when i've used a brand new razor, it seems to do more harm than good, so try running the blades through a wax candle or something that can 'blunt-en' it a little bit (don't forget to clean the blade after).

How do you make underarm razor bumps go away?
O.k i have been shaving the armpits(because i am a girl and hate underarm hair)

One of them are big but there is nothing inside no whitehead nothing just a red bump.
How do i get rid of this...i know i probably should stop shaving. but i can't go get it waxed with
rows of red bumps under my arms... it's so embarrassing please help. and no rude comments please...

    • ANSWER:
Make sure you don't use a dull razor when you shave, and use lots of soap or shave gel. It's possible you just have very sensitive skin, in which case you should probably just get waxed by a professional. When you do that, the hair grows back finer and thinner each time till you're left with barely nothing!

  47. QUESTION:
Which razor should I try for shaving my bikini area and under arms?
I'm trying to a find razor that will give me a closer shave than a regular women's razor. I have tried many but my bikini area and under arms are never smooth. I also tried waxing..very time consuming, painful, messy but not very satisfying. Someone suggested that I should use men's double-edged safety razor as it might give me smoother bikini area and under arms. If I do for men's which brand should I pick? I have not tried Gillette Venus razor for women, is it good?

    • ANSWER:
don't shave!! that's like the worst thing you can do for your hairs/skin!! do yourself a favor, get it waxed...just have a professional do it. the results of having a non-trained/experienced person do it usually leads to lots of itchiness, redness, ingrown hairs, bruising/tearing of the skin, and scarring. when you go see a wax lady, you might get some redness, possibly some bumps here and there, but they will go away within a few hours or so.

my personal experience, i have been waxing most of my body, including the butt and brazilian, and have noticed that the hairs come back shorter, finer, more sparse, and take longer to grow out with each waxing session...these waxings i have been doing for several years and have noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference!!! =)

whenever I get all those areas waxed it the bill comes out a little over 0 plus tip....keep in mind i am a guy which explains the higher price. i live in Odenton, Maryland so I am not sure about the price in your area. you may wanna check out phone books for that.

with most body hair waxing, when you go to a wax session generally you want to make sure that the hairs are no shorter then a quarter inch, but no longer then half an inch. this will help the wax to fully grip the hairs and it's less painful when the hairs are shorter! however, because you are waxing your armpits and bikini area, the waxing lady should have a specialized wax for those extra short hairs and sensitive area :)

regarding the pain, it hurts at first, but not as much with each additional waxing session. the pain level for your first time will probably be an 8...next time a 6, than 4, maybe 2, and just 1they will have creams. its much better to wax though since the results are long term and your skin will be baby soft/smooth for a long time, way over a month =)

after waxing a few times some hairs will stop growing back, however, for permanent results you may wanna try laser hair removal. after the first session i noticed that in some areas the hair did not grow back at all!! try it if you would like, its gonna cost ya a pretty penny, but its painless and the results last forever. because each persons' skin type is different you may have to get multiple treatments for all hair to be gone. on average you need 5 to 6 treatments. having laser hair removal done is a VERY patient, but rewarding process. if you do not have the patience for it, or don't stick to the laser hair removal plan/treatment timelines, than it will be ineffective.

      thanks for reading :)

Swollen bump under my left arm pit... is this a cancerous growth, an infection or what?
I have a swollen bump under my left arm pit and I don't know if this is an infection, a blood clot, a mosquite bite, a cancerous growth or a tumour...

What do you think this is? Is this common? Should I be worried?

    • ANSWER:
you desperately need to get this checked out right away! it could range from something small & harmless to something as serious as lymphnotic cancer.
lymphnotic cancer (sorry if the spellings dodgy!) is cancer of the lymphnodes, which trigger sweat etc...
i know that people diagnosed with breast cancer have to have a lymphnode biopsy to chech for lumps in the lymphnodes.
but, it is rear, so dont get too frightened! it could just be a slight irritation to deodorant! i would highly reccomend seieng someone about this & also typing your symptoms into a search engine, you never know, research might lead you too the root! i am sincerely sorry if this scares you, but please go & see someone! good luck!
